Hood by Air Men’s Fall Winter 2015
Shayne Oliver is special guest at Pitti Uomo 87

Villa di Maiano
Shayne Oliver and co, aka Hood by Air, New York-born but recently moved to a Milanese base, have been invited in Florence as Pitti Uomo 87’s Special Guest, and showcased the special collection the brand has created especially for the occasion in a majestic noble villa full of tapestry on the hills over the town, settled up with smoke machines, strobes, and a massive HBA fuchsia neon in the garden of the terrace: a discordant contrast done on purpose to highlight the possibility to match Italian, and especially Florentine, menswear clothing traditions and the brand’s bizarre and totally free codes and ideas. The core of the collection was really about creating something superbly tailored and luxurious, but using HBA’s space and never missing to express themselves. A keen study on subverted outerwear and the use of the typical sartorial color palette, where the elegance of shades as camel, gray and navy stand at the top, clearly show us that Shayne Oliver can deal with it. Getting back to the atmosphere, Arca created a quite hypnotic soundtrack, and white eyelashes, excessive Afro wigs, horsehair wisps, fur-lined hoods and camp platform boots were the details that made the brand’s dna coming out.
