Rick Owens Women’s Spring Summer 2015

Rick Owens‘s Spring/Summer 2015 act title could be ‘The Perversity of Doing Pastel Tulle’. And it would be sick, since he took the airy softness of romanticism and read it in a brutal key. Because the fondamental thing Rick Owens has in mind is to take a risk and make it his own. He approaches his own couture – and tulle in particular – as it would be a part of an architectural project, and he didn’t actually care about the screeching interpretation he gave us. And when we asked him about the unusual choice of colors, he took back the reference he highlighted for men’s Spring/Summer 2015: Léon Bakst’s work and his weird palettes, as the glacial shades Rick Owens put into the collection literally are an homage to that brilliancy.
