JT – Jessica Trosman’s new project, launched in Buenos Aires during last Fall/Winter 2013-14 season – reflects the design ethos that made Jessica Trosman gain international recognition. JT BY JESSICA TROSMAN is all about scientific research, progressive construction, artisanal textile intervention and quality leather; never missing the subject point of understanding and enhancing female body and its shapes.
During last Paris Fashion Week, we spent a moment in her showroom, almost as diving in a green jungle in the middle of Le Marais area. She told us about her first fashion moment, a 10-year-old Jessica going shopping with her mother and deciding all the stuffs her family was going to dress up with: ‘This is my life […] and I ended up doing clothes for me, for my family, for everybody.’
We also talked about JT BY JESSICA TROSMAN Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection, now available online to pre-order. She focused on developing 3D on clothes, inserting what she defined ‘monstruitos’, little monsters; pieces of fabrics literally hanged on tops and bottoms. The inspiration for these ‘sausages’ was deliberately unclear: ‘[…] You don’t know if it’s a monster from the sea of if it’s a monster that goes down in the earth’.
