American artist Sterling Ruby joined Raf Simons to create a collaborative Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection, a cult manifesto to teenage youth, beyond fashion and art. Patches, text scrawled, bleaches and paint were the nostalgic objects of their work, remembering elder years of Simon and Sterling spending their teenage punk-ish years sewing patches on clothes.
Each garments has been treated as a individual piece of art, all in a shake of chaotic process of construction / deconstruction and then back again to the starting point. An ode to a naive teenage nostalgia, where ABUS LANG (for ‘abusive language’) and FATHERS writings compared as patch on coats and bombers, together with stripes, galactic images and sharks.
