Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli literally fell in love with the Opera, that’s why they staged a enchanting mythological fashion opera for their Valentino Spring Summer show. Maria Callas’ Madame Butterfly was the soundtrack of the venue, and mysterious enchantresses walked down the Espace Ephemere Tuileries in fringes and embroideries, leopard jacquards and not so layered tulle. The dark richness of Egyptian iconography and the folklor of Seventies Art and Craft created a quite mystical mash up, never missing the delicatessen of the Maison. Golden scarabs as obi were applied to flat sandals as well as on chockers and bracelets.
