Maison Martin Margiela has presented a man that’s really a man, and that tastes of rough gigs and dirty nights: beard, messy hair, and rock but tailored garments. An inside out jacket was the first exit, and that kind of polished particularity was shown as the bastion of the show. The light palette gotten dirty with rust stands along with a dark but conscious not only of black, but also of royal and yves klein blue one. The work behind the whole collection was, in line with the maison’s philosophy, all about cut-and-past, where a shirt has two pairs of cuffs, and a jacket becomes a skirt belted with brown and worn belts around the waist. Anyway, there was space for some precious velvet devoré waistcoats also, because luxury is just an attitude, and in that case it’s a rock and rude one.
