We talked to designer Neil Barrett in his backstage, just after his show. He explained us the passage he has made through two different art currents from the last fall/winter 2013-14 collection to this coming spring/summer 2014: what was Bauhaus Modernism is now become California Minimalism, focusing in particular to Charles & Ray Eames’ amazing work. So on all the tops you can see shapes and prints that recall textures and visual ideas of their american 50s clean, modern and fresh furnitures. Through the interview you could also discover more of the combination of mini, macro and mega sizing of check plaid prints on the same garments, and also why he chose to express his creativities just on tops, making black, linear and plain light under pieces.
