Quasi assiderati nel vuoto pneumatico che genera l’assenza di atmosfera. Se ci sia un domani, non è dato sapere: è il presente che deve diventare il futuro. Catapultati da fasci di luce in un universo sci-fi parallelo, arriviamo stretti dalla claustrofobia dell’ignoto e accompagnati dalla vertigine del più profondo buio cosmico alla presentazione della collezione uomo primavera estate 2013 di Rick Owens.

Tenebra che fatica a disperdersi tra le prime proposte del nuovo look firmato Rick Owens, da sempre affascinato dalla monocromia del nero che è reinterpretata a Parigi grazie ai dettagli, un flebile grido d’anticonformismo ambiguo. Assistiamo infatti a un mix & match tra tendenze moda e tra i due sessi. I peep –toe sabot con plateau sono reinterpretati alla luce di una nuova mascolinità che si veste di gonne e caftani, pronti ad affrontare le intemperie di stagione con polpacci coperti da scaldamuscoli in maglia, trend onnipresente che ha uniformato le varie proposte.

Abituato a creare scompiglio tra i divari delle collezioni uomo e donna, Rick Owens cerca ancora di ricucire il gap fisiologico tra i due universi moda, proponendo, infatti, gonne al ginocchio, capospalla sottili, strati di jersey e lunghe tuniche, giocando su una semplicità che rimanda immediatamente alla frugalità degli ordini monastici.
Nonostante la sensazione di familiarità che possono instillare forme già viste, è nei dettagli che fiorisce l’universo creativo dello stilista statunitense: un calcio alla monocromia ed ecco apparire in passerella geometrie caleidoscopiche nelle tonalità del grigio, top monospalla avvolgenti caratterizzati da un lavoro patchwork che rivisita le gradazioni dei toni in sabbia con pellami assortiti, bomber ultraleggeri e sportivi uniti alla comodità oversize di parka dai grafismi optical fascianti.

Interessante l’utilizzo di organza per creare giacche e tuniche a doppiopetto, nuova incursione che scompiglia i canoni della femminilità suggerendo nuovi rimandi alla spiritualità e all’universo contemplativo del misticismo orientale. Che sia tutto un pretesto per lanciare una nuova dichiarazione d’intenti del designer? Rimane il dubbio che la nuova collezione di Rick Owens sia metafora di un’ascesa verso una nuova forma di progettualità, che comincia a svincolarsi dai precedenti legami creativi, alla ricerca di una nuova identità dei questo futuristic gipsy king.

The darkness finds it hard to dissolve among the first proposals of a new look by Rick Owens, all along fascinated by the monochrome black, reinterpreted by details here in Paris, as a feeble scream of ambiguous non conformity. We assist to a modern mix & match between fashion trends and both sexes. Peep-toe sabots with plateau are reinterpreted in the light of a new masculinity dressed with skirts and caftans, ready to face off the bad weather typical of the next season with knitted leg warmers covered calves, an omnipresent trend which uniforms the different outfits.
Rick is used to cause havoc between the gaps of menswear and womenswear, and now tries to sew the physiologic break between the two different fashion universes. His clothing is made of knee length skirts, lean coats and long tunics, playing with a simplicity that reminds of the frugality typical of monastic orders.

Despite of the familiar sensation inoculated by forms we had already seen, the creative universe of the American stylist blooms in the details: a kick against monochromes, and we see kaleidoscopic grey geometries appear on catwalks, mono-shoulder cocooning tops characterized by a patchwork of assorted pelts with sand colours, ultra-light sporty bombers together with the commodity of oversize anoraks characterized by hugged optical graphics.

Using organza to create jackets and crossed tunics is an interesting stylistic tip, a new raid to pick inspiration from feminine rules, suggesting new spiritual inputs taking a look at the contemplative universe of oriental mysticism. Maybe it is an excuse to introduce a new designer’s declaration of intent. Rick Owens, who created the collection, leaves us in a state of uncertainty: maybe it is a metaphor claiming his shift towards a new creativity mood, braking free from the previous stylistic bonds, looking for a new identity of this futuristic gipsy king.
